the fact that they translated Luffy’s nonexistent sense of personal space into the live action is so glorious to me. they could’ve written that off as cartoonish exaggeration but no. Nami with her head against the ground trying to open a safe and Luffy just. puts his head on top of hers. does he think he will hear it through her?? Unclear. but he has decided that Friend. Luffy waking up before the others when they’re captured by Buggy and deciding to wake Zoro by getting way too close and whispering DIRECTLY in his ear, getting the most utterly bewildered look from Zoro. it never occurs to Luffy that this is strange. it is my favorite thing.
